Social Selling: Shopify Introduces Sello for Ecommerce

social selling

Social selling news: Shopify announced a new mobile app called Sello on November 12. Sello is a social selling media app that allows individuals to sell via their social platform of choice. Using the mobile app is fairly easy. Take a snap of the product that you’ll like to sell and then push a link to your Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. According to their Product Manager, Chris Lobey, “Sello removes the barriers (of ecommerce) helping people focusing on idea they believe in”. Having this in mind, Sello is a simple way to sell online via your social media of choice.

Sello does not apply any transactional fees nor does it take a listing fee for using the mobile app. Fees from payment providers will still apply though. With no transactional and listing fees, Sello makes it even more easier and efficient for people to sell online now, clearly taking advantage of the social selling trent. We’re expecting to see a lot more ecommerce companies that will offer various social selling solutions on the market, particularly early next year. Regardless, we are excited to see Sello as part of Shopify’s new offering.
